Mr. Yasser Zaazaa is the Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Egyptian Central Securities Depository (ECSD). His responsibilities include, the implementation of the company’s strategic plans and policies, working closely with the Board of Directors and the senior leadership team, as well as maintaining positive relationships with authorities, regulators, and stakeholders. Additionally, his duties encompass the management of securities regulation, market development, and investor relations, while ensuring proper compliance with relevant regulations.
Since 1991, Mr. Zaazaa held several leading positions at Misr International Bank (MI Bank) until he was appointed as the Head of Securities Operations (2004-2005).
Mr. Zaazaa was appointed as the Regional Director at Société Générale Securities Services – North Africa from 2010 till 2013, following his remarkable success in his position as the Head of Securities Services in the bank from 2005 till 2013.
Prior to joining ECSD, Mr. Zaazaa served as the Regional Director of Securities Services at Citibank covering North Africa Region and Pakistan, as well as the Assistant General Manager and Head of Securities Services at QNB AlAhli from 2013 till 2020.
Mr. Zaazaa holds a distinguished professional experience that span over thirty years, during which he held leading positions in several institutions, along with regional and multinational organizations, such as, the Middle East Securities Forums, Citibank, and Société Générale. Moreover, Mr. Zaazaa was previously appointed as a board member in the Africa and Middle East Depository Association (AMEDA), and at Misr for Central Clearing, Depository and Registry (MCDR) during which he contributed to the market development efforts, and played a crucial role in the SWIFT implementation project.
Currently, Mr. Zaazaa serves as a board member in the Egyptian Capital Markets Federation (ECMF) and as a board member in the Financial Regulatory Authority’s (FRA) Unit for External Auditors’ Quality Assurance, in accordance to FRA BoD Decision No. 131 For Year 2024.
On the 22nd of October, 2025, Mr. Zaazaa was appointed for a three-year term as an experienced member of the Board of Directors of the Financial Services Institute at the FRA.
